This ‘Green’ House is not just a house with a vertical vegetable garden on the wall. It is also a demonstration of waste management. The plants are grown in used PET bottles filled with composted organic kitchen waste which is processed in a bio-digester (using anaerobic bacteria) that also produces methane gas which is used to fuel the kitchen stove. The grey water is organically filtered and fed to the plants via a gravity flow drip irrigation system.

When the plants have ended their productivity, they are fed into the bio-digester. This process of recycling old and dead plants for bio-gas and grey water for irrigating the vegetable plants, truly makes it a ‘green’ house.
